Mental Health Awareness Month

Hey Blog Fans,

… Changing this song before i start writing as its making me tear up and I cant type if i’m crying. Dan Fogelberg, I love your music but I can’t listen to you when I’m emotional, especially Leader of the Band!!

Thank goodness I have Glen Frey Part of Me Part of You in this playlist, as its just upbeat enough to keep me from crying.

Happy May Everyone,

This May is a particularly special for me as I am closing the door on a traumatic event which happened to me 2.5years ago. Now I have talked about it before on the blog so I won’t go into too much detail, but if you are a fan of casualty over here in the UK, there’s a storyline about to happen which is very similar to what happened to me, but with a bit more naivety and a very pushy now ex-boyfriend.

But that’s not what I am here to talk about today, (Geez why am I rambling so much)

Over in the USA, it is Mental Health Awareness Month, an awareness month I fully support as I have been battling my own demons.

What is Mental Health Awareness

  • Mental Health Awareness Month (also referred to as “Mental Health Month“) has been observed in May in the United States since 1949, reaching millions of people in the United States through the media, local events, and screenings.

Mental health is how you feel when faced with stressors in your life. For me personally, I know my mental health is not the best right now as I am dealing with PTSD after traumatic times,

Who is affected by Mental Health Issues

Anyone can be affected by MHI at any time of their lives, Mental health is this non-discriminatory thing, just because you are of a certain creed, color, age, minority doesn’t mean Mental Health will skip you.

My MH Box

I’ve been reading so many ideas recently about self care and how to take care of your MH and Physical health, there are so many subscription services these days which offer you little mental health gifts for the price of a meal out for yourself somewhere, so this May, I am going to my local stationary store and I am going to buy myself a box and decorate it nicely, and each month instead of paying someone a subscription fee for buying myself little treats, I am going to buy myself a book, a nice scenty candle a dvd, and just little trinkets to remind myself that I love me and Its ok to take care of yourself. I’ll also probably buy myself a little box of tea and fill my mental health tea caddy with the relaxing blend I choose, If you want to see my MH box, i’ll do an instagram and a proper tutorial when I get all the stuff for it.

Right Off to Bed I go, I have ideas to dream off

Much Love
